I've been thinking about picking up a low end tube mic for a while, and I came across the MKL-2500. Heard a lot of good things about oktavas and the oktava mods that can be done, and this one looks pretty good. Anybody have any experience with one? I want something mostly for acoustic guitars...

...not be for me, I don't even like the MK-105 much. The MKL-5000 cardioid pattern should be similar to the MKL-2500, but for whatever reason has a broad 4 dB boost instead of the 2 dB boost on the 2500 Just got my MK-220s today, our kitten chewed the case and it won't close, look...

Rycote USM works well with my 319. I favour it for both LDC & SDC's because unlike others with elastic it won't wear out. Skip the part where you end up with a box full of shockmounts that are either useless or too fiddly and get the best!
