Hate to call out my own mics, but the Lewilson 247 treads a fine line between interest and awkward looks (though mine is in black and not this gaudy) While the default casing for Austin DIY ribbon mics crosses boldly into 90s Nickelodeon territory
...tranny. I didn't like it so much before I replaced the ribbon with very thin .8 or so aluminum from Austin ribbon mics. Very hard to work with but a BIG improvement. Also great for acoustic guitar. The mic needs much less gain now and is lots brighter.
