"Goodbye" for solo piano, with and without M/S technique

I'm posting three versions of my song "Goodbye", played by George Colligan. The three versions are as follows:

1) Goodbye.mp3 - original mix
2) Goodbye M:S.mp3 - original mix with M/S technique applied in order to expand stereo field
3) Goodbye M:S A:B.mp3 - alternates between 1 and 2 every few seconds

I'd be interested in knowing what you think.

I much prefer the M/S. I listening at work through crappy computer speakers, but the image is much wider than the original.

Nice song, BTW. thumbsup

This is my first use of the M/S technique, and I think it enhances the mix.

Thank you. I wrote "Goodbye" for five instruments in 1991. I have released two recordings of the song, one for four voices and guitar (functioning like a bass), and another for guitar, trumpet, sax, piano, bass, and drums: http://www.cdbaby.com/all/johnlink

I prefer the first mp3 - sounds better in mono but you could balance the signal between L/R.

Nice!

forget the balancing part - my fault - I hate having my keyboard on the console. ha!

About the song - I think you have some Nordic influence there hard to explain but I could hear Monica Zetterlund's beautiful voice on this piece. Also a woody upright bass etc... I'm getting exited here. Really like the harmonies. Good work!
