Please stop making everything so LOUD

Frustrated by Loudness

I'm going to be 32 year's old in March.

Some of these mixes and recorded tracks hurt me so bad,
you'd think I was 90 years old with a hearing Aid Jacked up beyond 50 decibels

Yea, I am getting more sensitive to it as I age
But this is just getting insane

I'm with ya Doc,,... but 99% of this is client driven without a doubt..

I always purposely print a more conservative leveled version when someone wants it bangin'. and let them choose.... ...but guess which one gets picked almost every time.

When people get singles done.. on a large percentage of those, I automatically give the client a conservative version as well.. whether they want it or not..

I've started to feel I'm wasting my time on that one.

I'd guess a good amount of clients will request a little more dynamics and taste from the get go.. the rest like it balls to the wall.. sometimes it's like bangin' your head against that brick wall...

It makes you wonder why the loudness war seems to be showing no sign of abating, even though a large majority of music listening is done on earphones these days. There's only so much your brain/ears can take when the music is pumping right into them.
