Your ideal monitor set up should be that of an equilateral triangle. If they're 4 feet apart, then they should be 4 feet from your listening position

Problems going on

Hi there, same and similar problem here. Right speaker seems cracking randomly and I'll have to call the seller to have it replaced.
By randomly I mean: it starts all right, then get worse. Or it just starts badly and doesn't improve. Sometimes it doesn't get worse. A nightmare!

Do you guys know what may be the problem?

Well, I just received my Event 2030 back from repair of what i thought was a faulty tweeter and/or mid (distortion/buzzing sound); according to the certificate of service, both were replaced. Unfortunately, the problem is still there. Like the op said, the amplifiers are most likely the problem. Event support has been great, but i dont think they bothered to even test my speaker to identify the actual problem. This sucks. I guess its back to my old Rokits again.............

Hey guys,

I've been struggling with this exact same issue as well, but with my Event 2020s.

This is my second faulty pair (the first had the exact same problem and needed to be sent back). With one monitor in both sets, the volume/presence issue occurred after about a month of use. I think it is clearly an amp issue (possibly a faulty overheating sensor?) and has nothing to do with the tweeter. The volume drops by about 50% and sounds very muddy after about 20-30 minutes of use.

When they work, they sound fantastic, and the build quality on the outside doesn't seem too shabby either...

Anyone got any bright ideas? Really don't want to get a third pair!

You really have to let them breath, don't stick them in a corner and give them 4+ feet to develop a proper stereo image.
I agree, I have that comb and paper thing going on when you play say isolated piano.. I've changed out the woofers both sides to no avail so it's got to be an amp issue.
