Exclamation

.

jeezuz fukkin' krist.

i'm so glad i'm not doing these kind sof projects anymore.

thank the good lord almighty in high heaven above.

bottom line: clients are often clueless - because they don't do the **** themselves.

...even if they sit next to you for years while you're doing it - they STILL never understand wtf it is you do.

hey, i plug this in, play a g major, turn this knob, drag this vocal phrase over here - and BAM, you're a rock star!

like every business, pretty much - except it's supposed to look and sound like it's so easy to do.

...so anyone can do it.

so people actually believe that ANYONE can do it.

guess again.

yes, you have 9 gagallion mostly sucky bedroom producers - and nobody even buys music anyway.

the issue of getting money from people in the music industry - or for music product, overall -
is a whole other subject i'm not even going to BEGIN to get into.

good luck with your idiot clients. may their **** come to life and kiss them.

Why don't you just say what you think Skye - heh IN truth I really appreciate your candour, I'm well freaking sick of SOME people getting it for saying what they think.

Thumbs up

.

truth is - i agree with the pros here - Fletch, Narcoman, and the others.

just say no - to idiot clients.

if you're good enough - and, of course BUSY enough - your clients HAVE to pay.

otherwise, fix it in the marketing - if you can...

also, jozzafunk - sorry if it comes across as harsh - but i'm probably projecting
some of my own past experience with these exact situations over and over again.

and the **** ain't pretty.

just because we're musicians and techies - and we may even be good at it -
doesn't mean anybody has to appreciate it.

it's up to US INDIVIDUALLY to be smart business people - and take care of ourselves.

...oh, and also up to us to be hardworking, ethical, connected and lucky.

if we don't want to do a job - we can always refer it out.

i've done that a few times with difficult clients.

(although, i've given the other producers/engineers/artist development fair warning).

stratton, sorry for my lameness..? But umm,... why would you want to even bother working with somebody who is so clueless, I suppose cash?

I did a similar deal once, now if an artist doesn't exhibit at least marginal talent and experience I don't even bother.
