Just had the brakes replaced on the band van....

What started out as a $100 pad replacement soon revealed several other problems and quickly turned into a $440 job. I got two used Pre73's at that price and didn't think twice, but when it comes to something like this it just sucks!!! But when we leave for a 1000+ mile trip this weekend at least I'll know we can stop.

Count yourself lucky. You could have found out in the middle of a some alone country road. As it seems to happen 99% of the time.

yeah, all the work that was done could have easily gone over $1000 just here in this town, I don't want to imagine what it would have been at some po-dunk repair shop that knows we have no other options!

YOu paid a standard price for routine maintenance. It must always be done.
No big deal. At least you're responsible enough to have the work done.
A lot of poor poeple in Chicago drive with bald tires and bad brakes.

They'll kill themselves or someone else some day.
I despise them.
