mixing other peoples ****!

argh! i think i have had it with this mix i am doing. i HATE mixing stuff other people track poorly. i have had to mix and remix, sooth, mold, hype, fix this stupid ****ing mix too many times because every tone i hear is wrong to my ears... god i wish i could retrack this whole freaking album so it sounds RIGHT.

i did do a couple overdubs on the album and those are the ONLY sounds i am happy with... well those and a couple songs i tracked entirely.

i think i have it to a point in the mix where im just SICK OF IT!

There's just one thing you got to remember when polishing a turd....

You got to freeze it before you start polishing!! heh heh

Alpha, just put a lot of reverb on that old turd.

That way, it'll sound like a turd, in a nice big space heh

Then there is the home recording guys that bring you the mix just to finish it off for them. All it needs is a little eq maybe and then you play it and you asked did you only use the soundblaster for everything. already knowing the answer.

Sorry to side track to home stuff, although I have a band that has a PT Mix system at home and only a couple of Sm57/58's and berhringer desk. He did the drums with me as he could not get a great sound at home. You think after paying for a PT system he would buy one good pre and mic....

Then there is the worst.
Something you recorded yourself which you knew was ass at the time although that is what the client wanted. Then mix time comes and they agree but can't you now just EQ it to sound better.
