I oppose the pin 2 hot law, it makes more sense for it to be pin 3. Why?

1 = Ground (FREEZING)
2 = nearly ground (COLD)
3 = definitely not ground (HOT)

The BBC had it right - the Yank's got it wrong, just like NTSC television and 115V mains.
