My best guess is that this product would go a long way towards damping a floor....... much in the same way that a muffler does in damping a drum head.

My thoughts also Rod. I was thinking about using it on top as a finished floor, not sandwiched. My only worry is it may create a dead room sound, sucking up all the HF in addition to the LF... Your thoughts?

Leave the ceiling hard - and only as clouds (if and where) as is absolutely needed - hard floor/soft ceiling is a general rule - but not always applicable......
