Basic angled room treatment

I am planning to treat my home studio room and I'm hoping for some guidance. Budget is around $1500 which I realize isn't going to get my room "perfect" - just looking for improvement. I don't have the technical knowledge about this stuff, so any specific advice would be really appreciated.

Room is 17' x 16'-6" with angled back wall (pictured). Was planning to put monitors nearer to the opposing wall, facing towards the angled wall.

Let me clarify my main question:

The angled back wall: where do the rear corner bass traps go? In the upper angled half or the lower half? Do I need a bass trap or diffusion on the back angled wall itself?

The only way to know for sure is to experiment and see where the traps perform better. If I had to guess, I'd predict they will do better on the floor. But, high frequency reflections raining down from the angled wall could definitely be a problem. Use the "mirror trick" to see if you have any reflection points on the angled wall; if you do, treat them with absorption.

In general, try this strategy for finding the best spots in the room for bass trapping:
