Reading Sheet Music. Quick Question ....

I've opted to learn to read sheet music. It's doing my head in listening to my favourite Jazz and wanting to play the chords but not having a good enough ear.

Anyway, so I'm making good progress, but a quick question about the bass clef. When I have notes on a treble clef and a bass clef should I read the treble clef ascending from the bottom ledger line (E, F, G, A, B ...) and the bass clef in descending order from the top ledger line (A, G, F, E, D ...)?

If playing from stave is this how pianists do it?

Both are read same.
The lower the line or space the lower the pitch
