jules,

wouldn't it be cool to have a forum for just that.... odd samples...

i work a lot in soundtracks and always need the craziest things... things you won't find in any sound library... and in the internet... this could get interesting...

Check out The Freesound Project and please be respectful of copyright. Karma.

well, i am not talking about copyrighted samples... but self made recordings. or do you only buy samples?

i could post some of my recordings. since they were made by me, where's the copyright infringiment there? and who's is to tell me what i can or cannot do with MY recordings?

anyway, i'll check the freesound project...

i am very respectful of copyright. but to give up on an idea like that, just because... is not a good idea...

why worry about copyrights, when you can have your own DIY jet sounds!

Taturana,
I recommended Freesound because you were suggesting that it would be nice to have a forum for people to share their recorded sound effects/samples. That's what Freesound is all about. To clarify, when I said "be respectful of copyright" I was referring to the licensing arrangement they use at Freesound which, in most cases, usually just means giving credit to the recordist. However, it should be mentioned that sharing commercial or otherwise copyrighted sounds and using them without licensing is illegal. No, I'm not the Moraility Police or the Intellectual Property Police, but I do record, gather, edit, master, and use sound effects for a living. I also use commercial sound effects libraries.

i did go into freesound and liked it a lot... thanks for the suggesting... i am very worried about copyrights and have studied a lot about it inthe past few years, i also receive copyright money for samples and recording i made (as well as songs) but i am all for new things like creative commons specially in that area of samples...
