Recently I just got a BLA Bluey which sounds really great on vocals, very similar to the Splice Blue setting. The Splice is more versatile but the Bluey is much easier to look at and use.

I wouldn't track with it. I'd use more neutral colours like the RS124 and the SOC 20 M. Then I would use the Bluey for a vocal parallel print or maybe bass for mixing.
I love the sound though, it's cool. I had a real one for years and it's much quieter and instantly characterful.

Good advice, I think I’ll stick to tracking my vocals with either my Retro STA Level or Phoenix MP and save an 1176 sound for mixing.
I’m currently only using plug-ins ITB but I’m tempted to get the Bluey and get more into some hybrid mixing.
