I wonder if it sounds the same as it's big bro?

A 25pin connection from the 192 would be sweet!

Saw it at AES, not sure if it's shipping yet. A little different specs, no 6 db switches and xlr connection on back....

Not sure if the demo I heard was through the LT or not but the demo I did here was nite and day...The rep said we we're listening to PT HD a/b'd AES then thru the D2b....it was very apparent. Based on the demo, I would add the d2b to either our MIX+ or new HD.

how much difference is there in percentage

guys, how much difference/improvement/better/advantage is there with DB2B in percentage compared with the internal PT mixbuss.
I know this is something very subjective but still..

I don't know about the D2B LT, but my Tascam 2524 didn't make much to my mixes (by the way, I don't use any outboard...)

Just got the D2B

I just got my D2BLT and so far I'd have to say there is an immediate improvement in what I'm hearing. I'm using it with PT/HD3 and an expanded 192. I will know more when I finish some mixes but for the time being I'm happy with it. For now I will be taking the output of the D2B back into PT for mastering so I should be able to compare other mixes done "in the box" but without the D2B. I will report my results then.yuktyy

That would be cool...
What if you make 2 small mixes? One inside the box and one thru th D2B?

Hi Jules, I'm on Mix plus (with 2 additional Mix farm).

I don't care upgrading to hd for now 'cause IMHO stability/plugzupgrade/debugging/osx/etc.etc. would take at least 1 year to work well (do you remember mix + ?? ).

I hope that the Panasonic/RAMSA 96k DA converters will sound good! I talked to Calistromusic and Craig told me they're comparable to Myteks....... and they're now in blowout prices everywhere in the world!

I own also 2 RMEs ADI-PRO one Swissonic AD24 MkII and one Waves L2 Hardware (and also 1 882/20 and 1 882/16).

Talk to you soon.

Ciao.

Hey Kaneepa, how do you like your converters? How do you compare them (Swiss and RME) to the 888s?

I haven't got here a 888 but I worked on them many times...

My Converter top ten is (based on what I own or what I've tried for more than 1 week)

1. Waves L2
2. Eventide Eclipse (using it as a/d converter)
2. Rme ADI-8 PRO / Kurzweil Ksp8 (as a/d)
3. Swissonic AD24MKII / 888(clocked internally)
4. Digidesign 882/20
5. Digi001,Motu 2408 Mk I (the one with the rcas), 882/16

Ciao.

Can't tell you about the lite version but the D2B changed the way I mix. I liked it so much that I bought the Dangerous Monitor as well. Sold my board and my mixes sound fatter, more depth and a huge amount of outboard flexibility as well.
Get one.

- stability : HD has proven to be the most stable system digidesign has put out. believe me ... I know ... had them all since PT3 nubus came out.

-plugzupgrade :what are you talking about ? They're all there. lack of upgrades available is a lame excuse. unless you mean the lack of the you know (K)ind. that imvho I hope stays that way.

-debugging ??? it has been THE version with the least debugging necessary so far. definately in the field of the 99 / 100 users needs.

- OSX. I have yet to install it but from the people I personnaly know who allready have it is running without a hickup.

-etc etc etc ... ????

When HD came out there were plenty of the above reasons that could be an argument. Today they're not.

Possible arguments however can be :

- financial (especially for the (K) users it can mean a HUGE investment)

- quality ... you may not need the improvement or even feel that it is not worth it ... I'm fine with that. It's very personal and subjective.

I'm not a HD user myself.
But about the (k) users......
I've seen plenty of these things for HD plugins.
I've even already seen a (k) to boot up non OS 9 bootable MDD macs .
What I mean is, there will always be people around who find it challenging to
hack these codes.

Me, I find it very frustrating that it is "not done " to talk about it on any UC.

true ... but at least they're MUCH harder to get. The average user does not know where to get them to start with and the usual environments are becoming harder and harder accessable. Copyright companies are shutting them down on a daily basis and it has proven its effect to at least some extend.

At least for now that is.

D2B=fantastic. Huge sonic improvement.
(k) users are putting guys out of business and ultimately making all of our menus smaller.

I teach a class 1 day a week at a known recording/music school. The first question I ask is 'How many people download CDs?' everyone raises their hands. The second question is "How many people want to work in the music industry?" The same hands go up. Where the **** will they work?
Maybe along side the (k) users who forgot that intellectual property is no different than a Buick or a slice of cheese. Somenone, somewhere has to pay.
