ManleyLangevin DVC...pros/cons

I am debating pres and have come down to 2:
ManleyLangevin DVC and the Great River NV2.
What do you all think?
All i have are the Focusrite Pres on a control 24 and I want to
get a dedicated preamp for vox/acoustics/bass di/oheads...
thanks in advance for your time.

I own a DVC, along with several other pre/EQ combos.

The DVC gets the least use, generally. It's got it's place, but I would not have it as my only or even main setup.

It sounds OK, but it's just not "big" sounding. "Light, thin, bright", would be terms I would use to describe it's sonic footprint, compared to more traditional choices like Neve or a "real" Focusrite like the 110 or 215.

In a situation where a mic seems tubby or dull, or else you want more of the pick hitting the strings than the meat of an acoustic guitar in the track, the DVC would get the nod. But IMO, the word "phat" does not apply to it at all.

I have zero experience with the Great River NV2.
