Coles 4038/vp26

New member here. Wondering if anyone has experience driving a ribbon mic such as a Coles 4038 with a Capi vp26.
Does it have enough gain cap (60db) to get the most out that mic on everything from acoustic guitar to drums, or if you need something more like the vp28 (72db).
Thanks.

I should be just fine for drums, rock vocals, strummed acoustic guitar, trumpet, etc.... Other things might beg for more gain..

awesome. do your vp26s have red dots? trying to decide whether to use the vp26s or bae1073mp for a glyn johns setup with them.
