Ok. What's wrong with this picture?

Everything for me (well, NS1o wise anyway...), but I know some people who also roll like that. Twisted I say, twisted.

They aren't in front of a kick drum?

I hear you! Actually I can't cause my NS10s have my ears melting off..... Lol

Do you know their reasoning for having the tweeters in like that?
I'm just curious because when you see the man himself (Bob Clearmountain) rolling like that, there might be a pretty good reason.

The word you're looking for is preference. Can't be copying every preference, even if it's Bob.

Definitely!

I was just wondering what the actual reasoning behind it is, since you only ever see tweeters out. Regardless if the monitor is vertical or horizontal.

I have the tweeters on the inside with my NS10Ms too. Come to think about it, I don't think I've ever thought about it. Just always done it like that.

Totally normal and nothing wrong with the picture, well maybe a little if Bob would wear a tie to looking fancier..

I always place the tweeters on the inside position to have better treble respond to my ears..

I agree that it is completely preference.

I prefer vertical orientations (which reduces comb filtering when I move on the horizontal plane), and tweeters to the outside. High frequencies give the majority of directional cues, so wider tweeters usually offer a wider sound stage.

To each their own!

its not a bad concept. I've done that before to use the ns10's as my tweaking of guitars and vocals and switch to the outside set for the whole mix.

but I like vertically because it seems to work for all around uses.
I'll tape a napkin in front over the tweeter when I review a mix. it seems it makes them lie less in the mix reveal.

They were switched after that picture was taken - tweeters are on the outside now.

****, if Bob Clearmountain likes his NS10's like that... let them be. They clearly work well for him!!

As you can see the space between the monitor is wider so the tweeter outside is better...
