Potential new Set up

First post in here I believe, hope its in the right spot

So I'm gonna take the leap of faith and get new I/O and some Mic pre's.

My original idea was to get the Apogee Ensemble and I still might if Apogee doesn't release its replacement in a few days at NAMM. The Ensemble only has 4 preamps so I planned on getting another 4 preamps to fill it up then use my ADA8000 for when I need room for drums and scratch vocals. I was looking around at something with 4 pre's in one unit and I came across the Universal Audio 4-710d. This unit has ADAT out and 4 line input channels. So does this mean that I could buy this and not have to use the ADA8000, then eventually get another 8 pre's to fill up the 4 line inputs on each unit? The ultimate goal is to have 16 channels ready to go.
