Just got mine for Xmas. Not mixed on them yet but love them so far. The high detail is great. Bass is smooth and not hyped. If you want them for general purpose listening too, the bass isn't huge like most consumers want, but I see that as a plus. On the other hand, your average Joe might see that bit as a negative. If you want a killer, loud and big bass, don't get them. But for mixing, that's a different story and I think they'd be quite good for mixing bass.

really? I think of the bass on these as being huge. I haven't tried a lot of average joe headphones, though.

The bass is definitely curved/boosted slightly but still definitely usable for mixing.
