Change Unidyne III SM57 XLR prongs?

I have an old grey Made in USA 'Shure Brothers Incorporated' Model SM57 Unidyne III and am changing the transformer to a Tab Funkenwerk T58. Should I replace the XLR prongs while I'm at it? The metal looks dull so I wonder if I could improve the connection, or has it likely retained its ability over the decades?

Any opinions? Is a good cleaning all it needs, or would it be worthwhile to switch the part?
