Upgrading Adam A5X to BM-6P

Hey guys!

So I'm reconsidering my studio monitors.

At the current time I have: Adam A5Xs, Tannoy Reveals (the old red ones).
In a couple of weeks I'm picking up a Haffler P1000 amp.

I just stumbled upon an ad for a pair of Dynaudio BM6-Ps for 500$.

So my question is, should I buy them? Would they be a good upgrade from the Adams? Or perhaps I could sell the Tannoys and use both Adams and Dynaudios..

But before I eventually buy them.. Would the Haffler P-1000 amp provide sufficient power for the Dynaudios?

Thanks in advance!

The Dynaudio 6p's are pretty good. Recessed in the mids and pretty smooth up top. Probably the opposite of the Adams. Having both would give you a good idea how your mixes are translating.
I went from Dynaudio 6Ps to a pair of PMC DB1s. The mids were clearer, but the bass was weird. Then got KH120's which I'm very happy with...but they are more than you will get those Dynaudios for.

Thanks for the quick response!

So I guess getting rid of the Reveals and buying the BM-6P's would be my best bet.

So the questions remains, would the Haffler P1000 provide sufficient power? I don't have enough knowledge to judge that myself, but for your help I can provide the different specs:

Haffler P1000 Specifications
Power Rating 50 Watts/channel @ 8ohms
55 Watts/channel @ 4ohms
110 Watts bridged/mono @ 8ohms
Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) <0.2% (20Hz-20kHz)
Signal-to-Noise 100dB "A" Weighted
Full Power Bandwidth 0.1Hz to 100kHz (+0/โ€“3dB)
Slew Rate 20V/ยตs
CMRR (Common Mode Rejection Ratio) 70dB at 1kHz
Input Impedance 47k Ohms per phase balanced
Gain โ€“36dB min. / +29dB max.
Input Sensitivity Range 375mV to 3V (@ 8ohms) per phase balanced
277mV to 3V (@ 4ohms) per phase balanced
Damping Factor 900 (to 1kHz)
400 (to 10kHz)
40 (to 100kHz)

Dynaudio BM-6P specifications:

*Peak SPL 1m, pair (IEC Short Term): > 125 dB peak

*Peak SPL 2m, 5.1 (IEC Short Term): > 126.5 dB peak

*Amplifier minimum: 40 W (> 94 dB SPL @ 1,5m)

*Sensitivity: (2.83 V/1m) 86 dB

*Impedance, Nominal: 5,4 ohm

*Impedance, HF: (200 kHz) 3,5 ohm

I do think adams and dynes would complement each other. The hafler is a good brand.

I just bought some a7x similar size woofer: one of the adams has more power than the whole hafler. Does that answer your question ?

Amp Power is important for cleaness and dynamics. I don't think the dynes run 4 ohm honestly i get that a passive speaker and amp are cool but unless the dyne are super efficient i think the hafler is underpowered.

Haha, yes it does indeed! Ok, so I'll have to wait with the Dyne's for a while, haven't even gotten to try my Reveals yet.. And I can't afford a.. say P3000 yet..

Thanks for your answer man!
