vocal chain - 1176 A or D

I am building up my input chain mainly for vocals. music is industrial - whisper, sing, scream

main setup; sm7b (main mic) > sca n72 or presonus eureka> 1212m

Ive been using the rocket plugin and looking at building a hairball 1176 rev A or D.

im looking for regular compression and either would great, but also for mojo/effect at extreme. leaning towards A from GS searches but looks like D ln models are more common. Any recommendations between the two? which would handle input clipping better?

edit just reread 1176 revisions - looks like i misread, i thought D was trasformless on input.
