SM57 question

Hello everyone,

Today, I bought an old Shure SM57 Unidyne III. Under the grill, there is a small fragment of loose foam which moves around when the microphone is shaken. The rest of the foam which was supposed to be under the grill had probably been removed or had deteriorated with age.

Does anyone know if there is a way to replace the foam under the grill?

Personally, I would just remove any loose foam and not attempt to replace it. Should sound better that way. If you really need a pop filter, I would use an external pop filter.
