Question to the speaker manufacturers and designers out there ? :)

Hi guys, my team and I have been working on quite a revolutionary monitor speaker design and very helpful concepts and ideas built in to help mixing engineers provide a better quality of work and much quicker.

We are on our last stages of design and testing and the final perfect product will be finished very soon.

We already have the suppliers of raw materials, we already have the manufacturing plant.

Guys who have experience in the domain and know how the business works, would you mind helping us by explaining us how to distribute a product ??

How do we get the product from the manufacturing company, to online shops, to the professional shops etc ??

How to get this product known to the world ??

How to prove the quality of the product? (we have tested and know that it excels in what it does.)

I am curious about those things because we will have only 1 prototype from the manufacturing company and we have to manufacture at least 2000 of those.(The company doesn't work if we order less than 2000). And it costs a lot of money.

We also have to ship everything directly to shops or distributors etc, as the manufacturing plant doesn't offer any storage capacity.

So logically, we will have to find our clients first, and once the products are manufactured, they will ship the products directly to the respective shops.

But how to sell a product before it is actually manufactured, if we only have a prototype and a solid, well documented project??

This question might sound very stupid but actually we a small team of engineers, sound passionate and designers working on this project, but we don't really know how the business works :(

Thanks a lot in advance for your precious help

Kirk

You want to send demo units from a short run of products to some studios for review before you make a run of 2,000 units. There are monitors out there that are tried, tested, and true. Adam, Genelec, ATC, Yamaha, etc... Without proving they're better, you're not going to make sales.

Honestly, I'd take everything mentioned by yourself with a grain of salt as a forum browser. Someone who is investing this much time and money into product development to produce a "perfect" product would have hired someone who can put this together properly a long time ago.

We are a bunch of engineers and passionate people that have worked hard on an idea that can improve the lives of mixing/mastering engineers... we don't know much about business though , that's why we are asking questions on here.

We are not a rich multi-million dollar company. All the years of development and research has been provided by our own money, because it is our passion.

For the testing , we have already tested the concept and worked in parallel with more than 10 mixing/mastering engineers in Europe, engineers that have thousands of Euros of already high-class equipment and years of experience in the domain.

The guy who ignited the idea is himself a mixing engineer that found flaws in a couple of highly acclaimed monitor systems that he was using, and asked us as friends, if we could help solving those problems simply and intelligently, without breaking the bank.

We started the project just for fun, and lately it was our engineer friends that told us "why not find a way to make people benefit from it." ...so we though yes, why not.

We are not a bunch of people who want to make some money out of a bad product, we are very good and passionate about our domain and want to facilitate the lives of engineers out there at the lowest cost possible(money is not the priority) ... but we are not businessmen and we don't know how the system works ...so that's why we though , we could ask the experts and experienced people on here.

Thank you for your answer and time.
