Help me with my sound design station

I am designing my new studio and I want to create an area that I call my Playstation. The idea is to have a place to be creative with sound design that integrates with the main studio area in a meaningful way. The Playstation will be a tabletop with my Grooveboxes, drum machines, Kaospads, Kaosilators, guitar pedals and other sounds toys. There will be some rack filters and effects with a small patchbay. On the top of the table there will be a keyboard stand and beneath the table drawers for storage. Also, jacks to send the audio to my studio DAW. But most importantly, I want the Playstation to be FUN!

Now my question is how best to integrate Playstation with my main DAW so that the workflow is fast and efficient ? Should there be MIDI sync between the main DAW and my Playstation? Should I just run a video monitor to the Playstation and remote control the main DAW? Maybe iPad/TouchOSC remote control of the main DAW? Or, should I have a laptop stand or just give the Playstation its own DAW?

Has anyone done something similar in their studios and have workflow lessons to share?
