shure sm81 old and new?

Good day gearslutz!
A newbie to the forum here, but, like most others, a long-time lurker.

Anyway, i just got outbit recently on a pair of SM81's on ebay. there's a new auction up for another set of these mics but i found one significant difference between the new auction and the old one (the one i lost out on).

apparently, this on the new auction the mics have a straightened/flatenned part just below the roll off switch similar to this:

while on the old auction, that part is smooth and without stickers like this:

(EDIT: I now know they are both legit. just wanna know why the difference. thanks!)

any light that could be shed on this by anyone would be enlightening.

thank you.

Usually cosmetic stuff like that is done as a manufacturing cost saver.
