A suitable Miccrophone

I am looking on spending my like 500 pounds worth of equipment into being able to record vocals.

I was woundering what microphone would be a good starter for recording just vocals & any other additional information on what else i could but alongside with it for my room?

Go into Studiocare in Liverpool and talk to them and give some mics a try.
