I like mine pretty well for acoustic guitar - never used it on drums though

Cheers,

I just started using a pair of these for overheads about a month ago. I like it so far. they sound better than the Rode nt5's I had been using. I did a quick little a/b/c comparison with some of my other pairs of mics and went back to them happily. They will be fine untill I get the bug for a pair of Peluso's or something.

I just got a sudden itch.

I use them sometimes for the snare , both sides... very good when you're recording jazz or something like this... never tried as overhead

It is the most neutral of the three Non-SDCs I own, the others being Oktava 219 and Oktava 2500, both darker than the 3035.
In comparison to SDC cardioids, it's a lot less directional in the LF and LM range. @500 Hz it's something wide-cardioidish. In sub-optimum rooms I find that more annoying than in the Oktavas; I often use it for close spot miking a single bass in classical orchestras (but heavily hi-pass, just for the string noise). Have even used it for "natural" vocals once, when Neumann & Schoeps SDCs were too analytic.
