problem with my Apogee AD16X

Hi guys, I recently recorded a band which will be sending their project to mix in another studio. I used my AD16X as my main converters into my PC using the X-firewire. I exported the files from Cubase onto .wav 48khz 24 bit.

When the files were received at the mixing studio they told me they had lots of "clicks and pops" on the individual tracks. I was amazed to hear that because I didnt hear those clicks and pops on my system. They told me this was "clocking errors" but in my system Im only using the AD16X thru firewire and a Benchamark DAC-1 that feeds of the Apogee's digital AES/EBU outs. They told me that If I had a Word Clock cable running from the Apogee into my PC and I said no, its all running thru firewire. They told me "that's the problem right there".

Can anyone clarify this for me ? I though that the clocking was done thru the firewire cable into my PC. Will i need to buy an audio card that has word clock in in order to fix this? Thankls alot!
