Trident MTA Signature Two Preamp..?

i've been researching on gs for quiiiite some time now, and finally found a subject i can't find too much info on - meaning my first post!

i'm in the market for a bunch of new gear (aren't we all?), but namely:

-api 512c/lunchbox combo
-something neve-ish (cl 7602 most likely)
-bla digi 002 mod
-ptle music production upgrade (for 48 tracks)
-etc etc

i found a trident mta signature two pre on craigslist for around $300. i hadn't ever even heard of this unit, but figured it might be worth looking into. my question is this - would it be worthwhile to take the $300 from the savings to snag a good deal on a 2 channel pre + eq and push back some of the other purchases for the time being? or is this unit not up to par enough to justify the expense?

i can't find a whole lot of info on it at all, being that its from around 2002. i mainly record rock/pop, but sometimes venture into the acoustic, hip hop, and country genre's. any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

The Trident-MTA Signature 2 was a dual channel mic pre/EQ.
The mic amp was a conventional SSM2017 type; OK, and equivalent to a decent console.
The EQ was a 4 band type with peaking variable frequency on each band. A good unit for tracking instruments.

If you get it, consider replaceing the obsolite SSM2017 with the AD SSM2019 or the BurrBrown INA217, both pin compatible and superior.
