A Peterson Strobe Tuner is an absoute necessity for tracking/playing guitars and basses.

The real deal rack mount or the virtual tuners are both great. I honestly don't know how people get by without them.

Guitars tuned with other types of tuners just never sound in to me.

Pretty sure there is a free strobe tuner plug-in around as well. Never used it, and not sure if it helps. But I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

Hands down...Boss TU-2. I love this thing on stage and in the studio.
