i just found that blue baby bottle 1 ft out with an old 421 inside is a nice combination.

I would think that Joly's K47H capsule that screws onto most Chinese SDC bodies would do great. I know it makes a great vocal mic - has a lot of heft and midrange clarity. Not as hefty as a 4047 and not as bright as an M179.

Have heard great things about Advanced Audio's mics as well. I own his CM-12, but I don't think I'd put it in front of a kick.
