For the last 10 years I would say I made a 'decent' living, although it's had its rocky moments, from writing/producing music only (I don't do ANY gigs where I produce other peoples stuff)

To raise my gearslutz purchase level to a higher place I need to make more money from writing music. I am currently trying to work this one out.

I need more gear.

I work as a freelance recording engineer, so I don't need a studio full of gear. I buy only what I must have to survive. The stuff I have I got by buying and selling guitars, amps, pedals, mic's and the like. Lately I have been fortunate enough to work with producers and studios that simply have everything I could want. I figure there is no need for me to own it all if I get to use the gear every day anyway.
