Motu 828 or rem 800?

For the moment i use a motu 828. I am really happy with it but i've heard there are better converters. So i am thinking for buying a new inerface.

Has the rme 800 better converters? Will there be a difference (for 500euro i hope there will be a difference)?
If anybody has experience with both converters i will be very happy to hear about it.

Thanks

Well, you should use the search function first and do some research on this- cause I know for a fact that there are several open discussions on conversion quality between these units(and others)

But just to save you some time: yes- the RME has better A/D. And from what I understand- the Fireface 800 has more stable drivers than MOTU's. Also..check out the Steinberg mr816X/mr816CSX. Its a Yamaha unit with a different name on the front. So do some research on the Yamaha N12 pres and that's going to give you a good idea of what you'd get with that unit.

The switch to RME drivers is favourable if your are working with a Windows PC as well. I owned a MOTU back in my PC days and had stability issues. One of the RME units I owned in the PC days was very stable. MOTU and Mac generally is problem free.

Check these guys out. They make a huge difference in MOTU Equipment.

Here

Dump some extra cash into this, you won't be disappointed.

if you have Mac, def look into BLM. otherwise- I say go with the RME or Yamaha unit.
