How often people do preamp keyboards?

I've seen people using DIs, line channels on mixer, digital outs, but its not common to see people preamping keyboards.

I did some tests on my gears and my Roland Fantom and my korg triton sound way way better when i preamp them into a UA 2610 or an ART MPA Gold.

My DIs were lame behringer ones, was that the problem?

I used Art tube MP as di for that and is kind bad too, worked only on distorced synths.

How often do you preamp your keyboards?

Yes, I always do. An even better idea is to use nice amp with the synth, a good pair of mics and record that instead. IMO

I use a Pacifica quite often, or for mono synth sources the REDDI sounds great too.

humm i'll give a try on amping synths before recing. I've seen a Rhodes through a fender amp once and it was great, but it was a live show, nothing recorded.
