Best British Gear?

I thought I'd start a thread listing the Best British Gear you use since Non-British gear is becoming ever more expensive for us Britishers to buy due to the falling value of the pound. Conversely, it's becoming a bargain price for non-Britishers, and by buying British you could help our economy, which is more f-upped than pretty much any other in the Western World. And, wherever you're from, we've probably saved you from a dictator or two or brought civilization to your country at some time or other and here's your chance to say thank you by promoting British Gear!

Unfortunately part of the reason for the british economic state is that Britain no longer manufactures or produces anything but middle management.

There are still some small companies around though, Celestion (made in China now), Marshall (probably made in China) er...

I won't say "best" or not, but I'll add some companies who's products I've liked:

Chiswick Reach (Compressors)
Solid State Logic
Amek
Drawmer
Focusrite
Drawmer
DAV
Allen and Heath
Soundcraft
Coles
TF Pro (not the prosumer stuff)
Gordon Smith

If these guy's mics are like the Calrecs:
Hebden Sound.

+1 For Dav Broadhurst Gardens products. Horrible road they're named after - at least one side of it - but these preamps are hand made by an expert and give employment to the good people of Twickenam

Anyone got any love for Newmann Retro tube Mics? With the value of the pound these things are a steal compared with BeesNeez (the Australian dollars murdering every currency right now) Pearlman and other such mics - and the area they're made has been devested by the economic downturn - a thriving Mic Making factory would bring the town back to life.

Love the first part of your thread as it is very true.
Can't say I find the second part even slightly amusing.
Remember Basil:

Well keep it at that.

Yes, I said them earlier.

Great products, reliable and a lot cheaper than they should be.

strange that the town of harlow (which is generally considered to be loosely based on hell)
is home to thermionic culture and was the town where neve was formed back in 1961

Tannoy - used to be all-British. Not sure who owns them now, is it TC or something? My System 600As were made in the UK. I think that was the last line to be manufactured here...

+1 for SSL, DAV, & TFPro (all made in the UK)

Older/better Focusrite stuff (up to some of the Red series, but including ISA110s/115s etc) is British as well. Not so much anymore though.
