a ribbon thourgh the mix "vocals"

Interesting today I heard a mix and the vocal was going like a ribbon from left to right but also was still present in the mono middle.

I tried to recreate this but without great success any hints?

Song:
Filmakademie: Werbefilm

Its the last movie "Starbucks"

Thanks in advance....

I'm afraid i don't understand the question. I watched the last Starbucks clip, but i'm not sure what you mean by the 'ribbon effect' ?

hmm, maybe like this:
copy the vocal track 2 times
1. pan left, pitch by +10, delay some samples
2. pan right, pitch by -10, delay some samples
(eventide fx "trick")
route both to a group
but a chorus on it, maybe dimension d
take a stereo widener
mix it in
i also like this path in to a reverb

not bad this idea!
i tried some tricks with reverb and stereo widening but mähhhh

what makes me wonder the vox is wide but it is does not sound like fxs it sounds very natural.

may this vocal is recorded in stereo?

the trick is not the reverb, it´s the delay and chorus if you want it 3D and clean, this is a million dollar trick, lol
years ago i always wondered ho do they get this major league pop vocals...
the reverb is just another thing...

thats true I am composing since weeks for a company commercials.
the good news is this time it is a real song and I mix during composing arranging.

but sometimes I am out of enrgy...

but this drummer ?? he is a professional musician?
leaving the studio because of his girlfriend.... please do not tell me he is a famous drummer?

nah, he´s not famous, it´s their first real record deal
they are manged by a guy from a huge motorcircle club since some weeks and he made the connection to the label
if he will hear this tomorrow, i think he will give a tough statement
but they got a chance and behave like idiots
well, i get the whole day paid for 3 hours work, but i fear this situation will explode

mixing the music written by myself is very hard, i´m too deep into the material and i´m never satisfied, maybe you got a freind who can help you with fresh ears?

I get a similar effect with the Cooper Time Cube (UAD Plugin).

No no I am satisfied.
It was just the vocal thing:
I came across this tune in the video and thought "wow that would be perfect for your song a ribbon across the speaker front with the vocals"

Funny with me it is the complete opposite I am never satisfied mixing other peoples stuff.

i´m not always satified, too
well, i´m no famous musician, i got a new band since 3 years and we finished our first real record august 2009
i did all guitars and bass, cause the other guys had to work. ok, i did the whole job, tracking, mixing, mastering
at the end of mixing/mastering i couldn´t tell if this is good or total bull****
well, everywhere we play it it sounded as good as the good releases, but it took me weks to be able to listen to the record, i still can´t hear it like a normal record, i hope this will work some day
we went to wacken one day after it was finished and all the friends around played the cd serval times, i went crazy

there are at least two reverbs on that vocal.... a very tight dark room that's very wide and a long plate. That'll bring a lot of that in.

Nah, I mean recording vocals in MS. It sounds enormous - maybe not appropriate for everything, but for, I dunno, a Jose Gonzales album, it could fit like a glove.
