I call BS! 70's style drums sound IS possible on a DAW

Everyone in this forum seems to think you can't obtain a 70's style drum sound with a DAW.

Here's a quick drum beat I was working on. It's a little excerpt taken from 2 minutes of the same beat. I started getting off. Here's the best 30 seconds of it.

I used one Earthworks SR30 3 feet away from the snare pointed at the shell. That's it!

And theres the problem. The above is what you think of '70s drums.
I think Led Zeppelin, Nazareth, Montrose, Pink Floyd and even Funkadelic.

Somebody give me some carpeted room, ultra-dry, taped-cymbals and drums approach! I know it can still be done just like it was in the 70s...

Good decision!

I was always hanging out with my buddies Jon Monter, and Alec Leshy at the 171 building. We probably saw each other.

Who was your private instructor? I had Skip Hadden. What a monster!

i like the vibe, playing and minimalist approach. so yes it sounds good but doesn't really sound 70s tone/recording wise to me, either rock or jazz fusion.

when you hit tape the right way there is something that digital still can't reproduce

Motown Fusion cool

I think the key back then was the minimal mics and a cool sounding room
