FMR RNC unbalanced/balanced

What approach would/do any Really Nice Compressor users apply to get a balanced signal into it? Simple converter box? Specifically I think I'll be running from a Grace model 101 into it and then out to a MOTU HD192...thus I'll need to go back to balanced XLR. Would it be worth it to just find a higher quality compressor?

Thanks
-bryan

P.S. - I didn't know FMR was based in Austin...coolness. I think I'll give them a call and see if I can demo a unit perhaps.

bal/unbal

You can use an adapter cable on the rnc. It can handle the output of the grace no prob.
there are directions in the manual as to building the cables.

An alternate solution is to get a box to balance the rnc, you can do this with the rnp, or a box like a aphex 124 or ati makes one too. They are used in radio a lot to use consumer gear in super bad rf situations, Like radio stations. one box will accomodate 2 ins (-10 converted to +4 bal) and 2 outs (+4 bal down to -10 unbal)
The ati ones come up on ebay all the time. $100 ish.
new from markertek,mcm,pac radio.

I have installed both "bump boxes" for rnc's in peoples home studios. they both are great. I perfer the ati because it is easily trimmed for best +4 operation.
