Soundtrack recording ?

My band and I are going to attempt scoring some music for a hour long "behind the scenes" Bicycle race film.
I will be using my Yamaha AW4416.I don't have to worry too much about syncing since that will done post. The video does have time code on it.
I've never setup to do anything like this....And I have a time limit of 2 weeks give or take.....

Any advice or pitfalls to watch out for?
I think I'm going to set the band lie usual...3-4 mics on drums,1 mic on each amp and bass DI and try some live improv.type stuff as we watch the film in the studio...If'n we get some good ideas/riffs then stop and flesh them out.
