de-verb

it'll be a great day when some brain-thinking guy comes up with a de-verb effect.

I've got a track here with so much verb in the bottom end it almost makes it impossible to work with.

If you had an IR of the reverb and the right software, I think you could, in theory.

Or am I smoking something?

Slow attack, slow release. Or lookahead gating. But if the bass is awash in verb its still going to show the effects even if you manicure the 'verb tails out. (I like the idea of the convolution 'de-verb,' though. I don't think it would work, but then, that's what I said about realtime auto-tune.)

Do what we software guys do. You know: It's not a bug -- it's a feature.

Or, actually, in this case, It's not a flaw -- it's Art.

I dunno, though. It doesn't usually work with software clients, either...
