Hi Guys, thanks for the comments. By coincidence, I received the faders today!

They're not the whole motorized unit, just the fader caps themselves. The ones i got are a 'brushed metal' look (even though they are plastic)

There's a German ebayer selling them here;Prof SLIDER KNOB CAP metalized f ALPS Fader mixer DJ - eBay Passive Components, Electronic Components, Electrical Test Equipment, Business Industrial. (end time 16-Mar-09 05:59:38 AEDST) If the link doesnt work, search for a seller called; 'familygate'

You need to chose the 'lever 1' type to fit the BCF2000, regardless of which finish you go with (chrome, brushed etc)

Here's some pics with the new faders installed;

Pic 3:

Even though its a cheap-ass controller, its nice to have some real wood and quality faders on the desktop...

And funnily enough, if a controller died, I could buy another for under $250

Nice Job,

I wonder if theres any way of maybe adding a screen or led to show the track names for each channel. its irritating finding what fader does what channel and yes even with that software behringer released

Ive decided Im selling the ensemble (2 x bcf controllers, alps faders and custom wooden frame) to fund a compressor purchase.

Please PM if you're interested, Im open to offers. Im based in Australia, will ship worldwide, but you might need to buy 2 power cords to fit your local socket. (the units themselves will switch voltage to suit)

Cheers,

Scott.

without even looking at the back of the unit yet, are they all connectable, ie daisy chain them? or is it the case of putting 2 usb cables into your mac/pc ?

Actually... I read from somewhere (think it was ucapps.de) that the Behringer faders are Alps, just bulk, and thus without branding.

I have never seen an Alps fader up close so I can't confirm this to be a certain fact. But I have no reason to doubt. They must get them from somewhere, and there's not so many motorfader manufacturers out there.

But still, car pimping is a good analogy.

BTW, I had no problems with the link J1mbaFr0sty posted. Try clicking your own..

odd it works when i used my copy and paste version of the link thats messed. i will be doing this too eventualy linking 3/4 of them. dose anyone know if this works in reaper and reason?

ima get the white ones and the wood will either be white as well or plum and either or will be a sparkley metal flakeish look to it as well with lots of clear coats lol

Works in Reason. Works in Reaper too, at least in MCU mode. Been a while since I last played with Reaper, but when I did, I don't remember having any problems.

I don't think the frame is as nice as your's Scott (that furniture maker guy did a good job), but it's truly a pleasure to be able to grab some damn faders for a change
... That's for sure.

Also, the Alps fader knobs are much easier to work with.
I decided to put the Arsenal eq into a handy close by place as well.

So far this really does seem to get the job done. If there isn't a lot of automation going on the fader noise shouldn't be much of an issue. Either way, right now it seems worth the investment just to be able to move a fader.

Thanks guys.

Good luck to you fossaree.

In my case, It was tedious taking them apart to paint and re assembling , but not too bad. Rewarding in the end.
