Best ProTools Clock Ever!!

USD

I'm wondering if anyone here wants a ProTools TDM system bad enough to buy this sync for 900 bucks...

WOW

I might just pony up another buck and a half and spring for this one instead:

APOGEE BIG BEN - eBay (item 270341103481 end time Feb-16-09 15:43:20 PST)

I could be in the minority on this though.........

It's funny to me how people will just crap in a bag and sell it on eBay.

I bet the Presonus pre I use for mobile stuff has a better clock in it than this thing, and it cost $300 brand new.

This guy probably can't wrap his brain around that fact that his gear that he paid an arm and a leg for isn't worth much at all these days. He probably genuinely thinks he's selling it at a reasonable price. That or he hopes a complete ****** buys it.

If I had the money I'd buy two. One for AM and one for PM.

I had actually emailed the seller and kindly mentioned that this gear was a bit out of date and that I had, in fact, bought a USD a couple years ago for about 45 bucks. Thought I could help a fellow gear-ite out on wasting some listing fees.

He emphatically stated that these (yes, the digidesign USD circa 1997) were being sold new, right now, for 2000usd and that 'these units are still being bought and used in many pro studios that use ProTools..'

I would post his whole response if it wouldn't get me in trouble as I'm sure it would be as entertaining for some as it was for me...

On a side note: is it just me or have the prices on PTHD systems started crashing as well?

I just had a look around and I can't find anything to support that AT ALL.

I think the 1u case it's in is probably worth about $50 for a DIY project or something.

$900 paperweight?? Cabinet shim??

Who knows.....
