Big fat kick, subharmonizer, pitch shifter?

I try this week a pitch shifter on a bass drum in parallel on a live setup with a spx-90, the result was nice, I try it this morning in logic pro, with a pair of headphones, tomorrow I'll try with real monitor, but it was not that good, so I'm starting to search for something that can give me a similar result, I heard that the soundman of metallica put a subharmonizer on floor, and kick I think, so I'm looking for something like that, don't know if they're is good plug-in, or maybe a nice guitar pedal like the POG? don't know if anybody had similar experiance. If not, give it a try cool for live, now looking for the studio!

Hi,

A sine thing may work (think theres one in drumagog, have heard Waves R-Bass (ok, but a bit "unfocused", "unreal")

But then, maybe you just kill your hifi and build yourself a
"sub-kick", can't imagine to record a kick without one... I killed my Infinity Hifi Speakers, I think 8" or 10", and it reproduces the same sound as I'm hearing in front of the reso head..fat low-end...... and.. the standard Hifi-System has a similar woofer, so they will, too (if you're lucky..)... (makes sense?)

connect the speaker to a DI which can handle such a hot signal ( we have a radial JDV..) and there it is for me.. combine with an inside mic (adjust relative placement considering phase..)

Works for me but ....just my humble opinion,as I don't consider myself as a pro (yet)...

Cheers , Jens

Yeah I know this technique, cool for studio, but in live... I love plug-in, but maybe the sound of a stompbox can be nice, a mix of good analog sound, but not clear to give a little personnality, like some do with de ts-808

I'm note really a fan of editing and putting sound over what I'm recording, for that kind of thing I prefer processing on aux, so I have my nice natural kick and the sub thing on the aux track

dbx 120, WAVES RBass (& also WAVES MaxxBass) or 808 samples.
With any of these tools it can be done!

There's also the Furman Punch 10 in the analog world, and Lowender in the digital/plugin world
