How does 512c DI work?

I am getting the 512c and was curious as if the DI overides the xlr input.I want a permanent xlr cable for the vox mic. But when I want to use it as a DI will the mic signal come in with the DI signal or will the DI overide the xlr input?

there is a mic/line switch

Yep the bottom white switch on the front switches from the XLR input to the DI .

I tracked some Guitar with my 512s today and WOW , Phat rock in roll tone !
