How can I get the sound of the pick while tracking acoustics?(Samp. Av.)

Hola!
I've been trying to record acoustics getting the sound of the pick and tried to track them very "In your face" but I haven't been very lucky yet.
Is it a mic positioning thing? two mics? compression? is it a mix thing?
the sample I've uploaded is from the song "the last worthless evening" by don henley. I love the sound though is not the best recording ever, but you can hear the pick absolutely in a first place.

any help will be welcome!

thanks!

Some picks make much more sound than others so try lots of different picks. Strings and playing technique are also a big factor. After you get that sorted out try a SDC close to guitar at about 12th fret angled toward the sound hole. Compress and eq to taste.
