Wide Cardioids and the Proximity Effect

Hi,

A search yielded no results: to what extent does the proximity of the source affect a wide cardioid's frequency response? Is the proximity effect just as pronounced as in a standard cardioid? Or is it slightly less so because of the omni-like characteristics of a wide cardioid?

I apologize if this has already been answered (and it probably has), but I couldn't find any related threads.

Thanks!

The more directional the more proximity effect.

From least to most proximity effect:

Omni (no effect)
Wide card/sub card
Card
Hypercard
Fig-8
