I have a large collection of vintage beat box type drum machines and I can't use the REDDI with them. It boosts the treble too much.

Then what's a good alternative? Redial JDI maybe the Retrospec Juice Box?

Any clean DI that provides gain. Could be Radial, Little Labs, etc. These boxes you can use for everything. The juice box looks like a tube based DI with a neutral sound -- nice.

That was my thought. I main concern is a new DI for my MPC. Having a nice DI for my other gear would be nice too though.

I was looking at a Nice DI for the same purpose, but I heard from Shaun at Phoenix Audio that they're still trying to get production set up in the US. Back in December, he mentioned they might be in production by end of January '09. If anyone has heard anything, please chime in.

Radial "Duplex" will fit the bill.... Well...what pre are you gonna be using..? If you get something along the lines of the Nice DI, U-5, etc., that has variable gain, you will not need one of course...Good luck

I had communications with him a week ago. He said that Robin, who is from ASAP Europe, i beleive, will be moving to the US to build and produce Phoenix products.

That's future tense, so i think end of January is probably unrealistic.

He also said a 2 ch. Nicerizer is on the way (YUS!!!!), you can count me in for one of those. And on this he made no promises but 500 series versions of current products are being looked at. I think a 500 series Nice DI single channel would be just what the market ordered, personally.

What i would loooooove (down the road) is a 16 ch. Nice Mix of sorts, with 100mm faders, the Q4 Gyratory EQ x16, and 16 of those wonderful transformerless line input stages. That in total 10U to 12U space format fitted to a Sterling Modular Plan B has now become my dream console. Maybe some day i'll have enough scratch to make that happen. A 2ch. Nicerizer would supplement my current console and DRS-Q4 just fine for the next 5 years or so though.
