Would this be worth it.

im getting rid of my fire studio project and upgrading to protools. Would it be worth it to get a digi 002. Like a year from now would it still be running great if i took care of it?
i dont have a budget for the actual interface much higher than 800 maybe 1000 at the most if i sold my fire studio project. or would it be smarter just to buy the digi 003 new?
I would really like some input on this.
O yeah i need at least 8 inputs so i will be getting 2 m audio dmp 3's aswell.

My biggest fear is that protools will drop digi002 support soon, not so much the reliability of the box. Things can still go wrong inside (power supply), but I would go for it. Oh yeah, don't forget the BLA Mod.
